In 2025 - 2026 we facilitated a series of workshops at Algoma University, These community engaged workshops were developed for students with specific objectives. The audience consisted of mostly racialized international university students who are eager to explore the transformative potential of arts-based approaches in addressing community issues. The goal of these workshops was twofold: To engage students in learning through arts-based methods. To equip them with the skills and confidence to facilitate community projects using these techniques. Workshop themes included: Practical topics, such as using arts to: Make the job search less stressful, and Coping with expenses and other financial needs Addressing challenging topics like: Mental health awareness, Housing insecurity, Precarious work Lack of sense of security in the country, Sexual harassment, Field jobs etc. through creative expression. Mediums like cyanotype, printmaking, mask painting, collage mixed media, story board, sculpture were introduced, some images from the workshops.
A women empowerment painting workshop was facilitated for Malton women Council in 2025. Stories of empowerment and experience were share along with the creative process.
A series of six wellness workshops followed by exhibition with Youth from Richmond Hill HS and Play forever - May - June 2026. This work was made possible by ArtWorksTO (Newcomer Program), in partnership with Toronto Arts Foundation. ArtWorksTO is a workforce development initiative that provides participants with credentialed education, industry mentorship, and paid work placements to develop practical skills and build professional networks in the media arts industry.
